Stop and Smell the Flowers
Maybe I don't get out as much as I should, but I have never seen these flowers before moving to the Azores. From a distance it's one beautiful flower. But up close... just amazing. I couldn't help but whip out the camera. Taking time to stop and smell the flowers was worth it! :)

My Happy Place
On the top of an island in a far-off place is a beautiful clear lake surrounded by green, green forests, colorful hydrangeas, and filled with ducks and lily pads. The trees, stumps, and forest floor are all coated in moss due to the fact that it is usually "up in the clouds". This place is so quiet and serene, it is the perfect 'Happy Place' where I can enjoy my family, play with my camera, or just sit and think. I'm not the only one who thinks so...

Buildings with Character
One of the things I love about the Azores is the style of their homes, buildings, and city streets. They are old, mature, and uniquely beautiful. It is refreshing how the people here take pride in their towns and homes. The structures are repainted yearly, getting ready for the time of the festivals. Those that have been abandoned are very apparent and photographic in their own right.

Farming in Terciera
The island of Terceira is covered in beautiful rolling farmland, quilted with rock walls, and dotted with rock sheds and farmhouses. I had a wonderful time touring the island this last week with my parents and our trusty cameras!

Beautiful Terceira
Terceira is a beautiful place, up close and from afar. I am definitely going to go through withdrawals when we have to leave this beautiful island.
